David Guetta makes coastal design feel modern in his Miami living room – his condo just set records in a $16 million sale

David Guetta.

Acclaimed DJ David Guetta has sold his Miami Beach condo for $16 million in a deal that has set new records.

According to listing agents Corcoran, this sale price ($6,337 per square foot) is the highest condo sale per square foot ever in Miami Beach and the second-highest condo sale per square foot ever in the state of Florida. However, it's worth noting that while this sale is the highest-priced condo sale (per square foot), the unit is not a penthouse.

So, what does $16 million buy you in Miami Beach? The French DJ, who has sold over 10 million albums globally, enjoyed three bedrooms (two of which are primary suites), three bathrooms, motorized shades, and a wrap-around balcony with Atlantic views. Each of the rooms demonstrates a modern coastal color palette – primarily drawing from the blues of the surrounding water, but arguably, no space does it quite as well as his living room.

While some coastal living rooms aim for a more traditional, old-money aesthetic, Guetta's space is notably more contemporary.

The DJ opted for a two-tone color palette: one blue (to complement the ocean tones) and the other a bright white. The furniture is just as sleek, starting with a glass coffee table decorated with art books. Like much of the home, the open-plan living room also features a Sonos sound system becasue this was David Guetta's house, after all.

While the living room is the epitome of modern coastal luxury, Guetta maintained the look throughout the rest of the condo, including in the dining area, where he created a talking point with a contemporary chandelier above the wooden table.

In the bedroom, the color palette is just as powerful. The crisp white bedsheets pair well alongside the blue pillows and throw, that, once again enhances the enveloping ocean view. We can shop for a similar look with some of our favorite modern coastal picks below.

Guetta purchased the condo, located in Setai Hotel and Residences, for $9.5 million from businessman Richard LeFrak in 2018. Described as a 'rare jewel' at the convergence of East and West, the iconic Setai Miami Beach residence sits on the fashionable Collins Avenue on the oceanfront.

The building spans 40 stories high and includes 22 floors of condo units, including three stories of penthouses. Residents, including the new owner of Guetta's former home, can enjoy a host of luxury amenities, including three swimming pools, a landscaped resort area on the beach, and private gardens.
