Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says he has not changed anything this season since Erik ten Hag became manager.
There has been plenty of discussion about De Gea's distribution, particularly following the first leg of United's Europa League round of 16 tie against Real Betis. Ten Hag has also been asked about it several times during press conferences, admitting it was impossible to ignore after that match at Old Trafford.
But the 32-year-old remains a key player, playing every minute in the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup campaigns. De Gea seems content with the way he is working.
"I'm a goalie; I've been doing this since I was very young, trying my best every game; I'm not changing anything, just doing what I've been doing for a long, long time," De Gea told Sky Sports. "That's what we're doing, trying our best to help the team as much as we can, and that's all."
On his current contract situation, which sees the goalkeeper set to become a free agent this summer, De Gea added in the same interview: "I’ve been here many, many years, enjoying every moment in this club playing many games. Of course, it's great to be here, it's a massive club, and I love the club, and I’m really happy here, of course.
"It's been the same over the years, there's a lot of noise around the club, but players just focus on games, especially the one we have one Sunday (versus Newcastle United) - a massive game for us because we want to finish in the top four.
"As I say, we have many, many games, so I think we have to be really, really caring about training, recovering well, helping the team, and that's the most important thing, more than contracts or anything."
