Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says he has seen “great things” under Erik ten Hag's guidance this pre-season.
The Dutchman began his reign as the club’s new boss in emphatic style, as United hammered Liverpool 4-0 in their Bangkok friendly on Tuesday. The squad are gearing up for Friday’s match with Melbourne Victory, having already made the flight over to Australia.
Ten Hag was able to work with his United players for a fortnight before they jetted off the Thailand. And speaking before the Liverpool win, De Gea outlined that he and his colleagues have responded well to his fresh input.

"The manager knows 100 per cent what he wants," he told club media. "He knows the way he wants to play.
“He’s giving a lot of information to the team, trying to give the details and have some rules inside and outside the pitch, I think this is what we need and also to know what we have to do on the pitch and play as a team.”
De Gea explained how Ten Hag’s principles are already embedding into the players, which has been reaping some positive results. He added: "I think the whole team is working very hard.
“They are very intense sessions with the manager, he knows very clearly what he wants for the team and there is a lot of information at the beginning, as I said, but with the time here [on tour] we are getting the right messages so I think it’s great.
"It’s very intense training and everyone is focused on football and I feel that I have seen great, great things."
