Manchester United players are enjoying Erik ten Hag’s training sessions because of their intensity, says David de Gea.
De Gea was part of the United squad that travelled to Spain for a week-long training camp last week, which concluded on Saturday. United played two friendlies during the camp, losing to Cadiz 4-2 and Real Betis 1-0.
As revealed by the Manchester Evening News , the club are hoping to arrange a behind-closed-doors friendly before the resumption of the domestic season, which gets back underway on December 21 when the Reds welcome Burnley to Old Trafford in the League Cup.

A number of academy players were able to witness Ten Hag’s training methods first-hand during the trip to Spain. De Gea is on the other end of the age spectrum but his manager’s training sessions have also been an eye-opener for the 32-year-old.
Speaking to club media, the Spaniard - who was left out of his country’s World Cup squad - unpacked how he and his teammates are finding Ten Hag’s methods at Carrington.
"I think he has high demands for everyone, there is a lot of information,'' said De Gea, the first-team’s longest serving player having signed in 2011. “We are used to playing under him because we are learning a lot of new things as a team.
''I think we are enjoying it, we are training really hard with him. They are long training sessions, tactics, everything and I think we are heading the right way.
''We are playing really well, as you saw in the last game we showed we can play really well. We are winning games and that is the most important thing.''
De Gea played 45 minutes in Spain, featuring in the first-half of the loss to Real Betis after Martin Dubravka started the defeat to Cadiz. MEN Sport understands that United are planning to trigger a one-year extension to the goalkeeper’s contract before it expires in June.
