A week on from lifting Sam Maguire, David Clifford is back doing what he does best, namely, terrorising defences.
The King of the Kingdom kicked 1-9 for his local side Fossa propelling them to victory over Listowel Emmets.
The lethal inside forward showed no signs of an All Ireland hangover after a joyous week of celebration with his Kerry teammates as he tore the Listowel defence to shreds. Clifford picked up where he left off last Sunday and showed no mercy, kicking score after score as Fossa eventually won by seven points.

It’s been a whirlwind seven days for the 23-year old. Just a week ago, the three time All star put in a sensational performance in the All Ireland final, kicking eight points and helping Kerry end an eight year All Ireland famine.
Clifford’s heroics denied Galway star Shane Walsh from getting his hands on the coveted trophy and consigned Galway to yet another season without bringing Sam Maguire out west. For Clifford though, it was a weight off the young man’s shoulders as he fulfilled a destiny long touted for a man who many feel has the potential to become one of the best footballers in history.
Clifford kicked 1-2 from play and while there were signs of fatigue early doors with the star forward kicking some uncharacteristic wides, he stepped up as he always seems to do when the going gets tough. Paudie Clifford also lined out for his home club in a centre back role, pulling the strings from deep and kicking a score.
Fossa, who’ve already had a decent season after achieving promotion out of Division 4, will play Listry and Castlegregory in their final two group games of the Kerry Junior Football Championship.
