David Bowie's Legacy Compilation Hits 400 Weeks On U.K. Chart

David Bowie English singer-songwriter and musician

David Bowie's Legacy compilation has achieved a significant milestone by spending 400 weeks on the U.K. albums chart, marking the first time one of his releases has reached this impressive feat. Since his passing in 2016, Bowie's discography has continued to expand and resonate with audiences.

Legacy's enduring popularity in the U.K. is a testament to Bowie's lasting impact on the music industry. Notably, his iconic album 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' has spent 168 weeks on the chart, showcasing the enduring appeal of his music.

Another compilation, 'Best of Bowie,' released in 2002, has also enjoyed significant success, with 163 weeks on the U.K. albums chart. However, it is Legacy that has now surpassed all of Bowie's previous records by reaching the 400-week milestone.

Despite its remarkable longevity on the chart, Legacy has yet to claim the top spot, peaking at No. 5 in previous rankings. Nevertheless, Bowie boasts an impressive total of 36 top 10 albums in the U.K., solidifying his status as a music legend.

As Bowie's music continues to captivate audiences and break records, his legacy remains a powerful force in the music world. The enduring popularity of his compilations serves as a testament to his enduring influence and talent.
