It has been some years since David Beckham strutted his stuff on the pitch; now the Manchester United legend is just your regular family guy.
Once upon a time, Becks would dominate both front and back pages in the press while his celebrity lifestyle got him into trouble with Sir Alex Ferguson before high-profile moves to clubs such as Real Madrid, LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain. Now, though, the former England captain enjoys the smaller things in life.
And that includes a fine cup of coffee and strolls in the countryside, though combining the two is something of a conundrum for Beckham. The former England captain admitted that he sounded like "a k***" while speaking to Gary Neville on his The Overlap YouTube channel, where he answered 29 questions about himself.
Asked by his old United teammate what his morning routine was, he replied: "What I first do is have a cup of coffee, actually wake the kids up then have a cup of coffee. I love coffee. The weird thing is, and I am going to sound like a right k*** now.
"In London I have a black coffee, in the countryside I have a latte. Makes me sound like a bit of a k***, I don't know why. I never have a latte in London and I never have black coffee in the countryside.
"I love the countryside, always, always loved the countryside. I like the combination, during the week I am in London because the kids are at school but then weekends I am in the countryside - and I love being in the country."
Among a number of topics that Beckham delved into was the number of tattoos that he had inked on his body. Incredibly, the 47-year-old revealed that he had an astonishing 81 in total.
Neville pried and asked what his favourite one is, accidentally catching his pal out who forgot to initially mention his wife, Victoria. "It's hard to pick a favourite one, to be honest. [My] kids' names," he said initially.
The ball dropped and Beckham quickly added: "And Victoria's [name]. Throw that one in." It led to the duo laughing their heads before swiftly moving on. Beckham has four children with Victoria, who he has been with for almost 24 years. Brooklyn, 23, Romeo, 19, Cruz, 17, and Harper, 10, all of whom have their names tattooed on the Red Devils legend.
