David Beckham shares throwback snaps of rarely seen sister Lynne on her 50th birthday

David Beckham shared a slew of throwback snaps to celebrate his older sister Lynne's 50th birthday on Sunday.

The former footballer, 47, rarely posts about his sibling, who keeps her life out of the spotlight.

Taking to Instagram, David shared a sweet childhood family snap before uploading a photo of Lynne when she was older.

The family photo showed the Man United ace beaming as he stood next to Lynne, with his dad and other sister Joanne also in the shot.

He wrote: "Happy 50th Lynne hope you have an amazing day sis you deserve it. P.s sorry about the second pic @lynnebeckhambriggs1972 @sandra_beckham49 @jo_jo_beckham_ @tedbeckhamdavid sorry about the pic dad."

David rarely post about Lynne. The siblings were reported to have fallen out in 1999 when she married Colin Every but appear to have made amends.

At the time, Becks was rumoured to have disapproved of her husband, but still attended the wedding even though Victoria is said to have refused to go.

After her divorce in 2010, Lynne was left claiming £164 a week in benefits, and the estrangement between her and her famous brother appears to have continued.

In 2019, David's sister was selling her belongings for a little as £2, just days after David threw a £30,000 New Year's Eve party.

The footballer is said to have helped Lynne financially out in the past.

He reportedly paid around £250,000 for a home in Romford for her to live.

Earlier this month, David shared a selfie with his mother after being treated to his "favourite" childhood meal at her house - though it sparked banter among the family on social media.

The former footballer paid a visit to his mum Sandra Beckham, 73, recently and shared a photo of them together with his 73 million followers on Instagram.

He said you "can't beat dinner with mum" as he showed off his gammon meal complete with chips, pineapple, fried egg, coleslaw and mushy peas.

The father-of-four said that it was his "favourite as a kid" and added in the caption the meal at his mum's house had been followed by a jam doughnut and a cup of tea.

He also took the opportunity to tease his younger sister Joanne Beckham, 40, in the caption. He wrote in the recent post: "Sorry [Joanne], the [king] was home for dinner."

The post has since amassed more than 620,000 likes on the platform and attracted almost 3,000 comments, including from some of his family, such as his two sisters.

Joanne teased: "Wonder if [mum] got the king mug out the cupboard for you too. Anything for the king. Oh was there a red carpet too?" She included laughing emojis in her reply.

Older sister Lynne responded by commenting that she doesn't get such treatment either, saying: "We just stand outside looking through the window."

The siblings' mum Sandra responded to her daughters: "Don't be gel." Whilst their brother David said: "Come on girls, don't be jealous." Both had included a laughing emoji.
