Depending on size, kitchen storage can be a hot commodity. Unless you have ample counterspace and high shelves, odds are you have strategized about how to stylishly store appliances and accessories in a way that doesn't promote clutter.
David Beckham has provided a kitchen storage idea with an ever-popular trend: hanging pots and pans from the ceiling. In a post recently shared to the former athlete's Instagram page, we can see his chef's kitchen features a large kitchen island, where metallic pots and pans serve as a makeshift centerpiece from hangers on the ceiling.
Vertical kitchen storage is not only practical – as David proves, it can be a decorative element as well.

According to experts, hanging accessories like pots and pans is one of the best ways to use all available space in even the smallest of kitchens.
'One of my favorite tricks in a compact kitchen is using the ceiling,' says Seymen Usta, Design Expert at Modern Chandelier. 'Instead of relying on countertop space for storage, I install ceiling-mounted racks above kitchen islands or in unused corners. But here’s where people go wrong: they choose oversized pot racks that overwhelm the room. The better solution is a minimalist hanging rail with S-hooks or a compact rectangular rack that hugs the ceiling, so it doesn’t visually clutter the space.'
David has done exactly this, hanging the pots from discreet ceiling hooks rather than add a clunky rack to the space. Alternatively, Seymen says that attaching racks to the wall can look just as fantastic. 'Most people treat their backsplash as a decorative space, but it’s prime real estate,' he says. 'Instead of leaving it bare, I install slim rails with hooks for utensils, spice shelves, or even small hanging baskets for produce. Pegboards aren’t just for garage tools—they make a fantastic flexible storage system in a kitchen. They hold everything from pots to cutting boards and can be rearranged as needed.'
Seymen also gives us ideas on how to make use of dead space: 'And don’t ignore the space between the upper cabinets and ceiling. If you’ve got a gap, why not add an extra row of floating shelves or enclosed cubbies for rarely used items? A few baskets can keep things tidy while making use of that awkward dead space.'
Whether you're looking to create more room in your kitchen or simply want to show off a beautiful pot and pan collection, vertical storage is the way to go.
