David and Paudie Clifford have been hailed for their 'astonishing' displays as Kerry won the Munster Championship, just hours after the passing of their mother.
Ellen Clifford after a long and brave battle with an illness on Saturday, May 6th.
She is survived by her husband Dermot and her daughter Shelly along with sons David and Paudie.
Less than 24 hours after her tragic passing, both David and Paudie were in top form as Kerry put a beating on Clare.
Wearing the number 14 shirt, David bagged 2-6 in a little over 50 minutes before Kerry took their foot off the gas and eased up in the final quarter.
Paudie was also in fine form, and deservedly raised a green flag to cap off a wonderful performance.
The fact that either man was even in any shape to take to the field is worthy of admiration, but the fact that they both performed superbly well had people on social media paying tribute to the brothers.
"David Clifford and the brother Paidi. Astonishing to watch even more so after the last 24 hours. Fair play to ye lads" wrote Colm.
"The truly mighty David Clifford on a difficult day for him," said Michael.
"What a moment for David Clifford, have so much admiration for himself and Paudie after today," said Tomás.
"David and Paudie Clifford a credit to @Kerry_Official today. Played superbly in the most difficult possible circumstances #kerrygaa," said Trevor.
