
Dave Mallow has died at the age of 76.
According to TMZ, the American voice actor died on Tuesday after being in hospice care.
According to his IMDb page, Mallow worked in radio in the Midwest and New York City for 12 years before he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in voice acting.
He was best-known for voicing villain Baboo in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and appeared in 138 episodes from 1993 to 1999.
Mallow then worked on other shows in the franchise including Power Rangers in Space, Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Time Force.
In the 90s he also voiced Dogtanian in The Return of Dogtanian which served as a sequel to the 1980s Spanish-Japanese cartoon Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds.
He voiced characters in animated shows like Digimon: Digital Monsters, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh! and various Japanese animated movies.
He also worked on video games including Call of Duty, Battleship, Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Final Fantasy.
In addition to his acting work, Mallow was a talented writer and director, contributing to several anime projects throughout his career.
Mallow was staying at the MonteCedro Senior Living Community in Altadena, California.
A former colleague told the outlet that Mallow’s health “had been declining in recent years.”
He is survived by his older sister, Marilyn, who also resides at MonteCedro.
His fans took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter to pay tribute.
"Rest in Peace Dave Mallow, best known for Angemon and his evolutions as well as other digimon plus Rita's henchman Baboo from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and other monsters of the week,” wrote one person.
"Heartbroken to hear of the passing of veteran voice actor Dave Mallow, he was one of the cornerstones of my childhood with Digimon, Power Rangers & FLCL, rest in peace and thank you for the memories,” scribed another.
While a third penned: "RIP Dave Mallow," alongside heart emojis.
