Davante Adams takes no chances when leaving the field after Kansas City Chiefs drama

Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams was not taking any risks when leaving the field on Sunday, after the wide receiver ended up shoving over a cameraman in his last outing.

On October 11, Adams was a frustrated figure as his two touchdowns weren't enough to avoid defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, and he stormed off the field after losing 30-29. However, his path was blocked by a cameraman, and Adams was ultimately charged with misdemeanour assault after footage emerged of him shoving the man to the floor.

Adams apologised after the incident and will attend court on November 10 after charges were filed. And when leaving the field in Vegas on Sunday, Adams made sure that no one was in his way, before sidestepping down the tunnel.

The receiver may not have got on the scoresheet against the Houston Texans on Sunday, but the result was much more positive as the Raiders won 38-20. And Adams was in a much better mood, as he hilariously ensured the coast was clear before leaving the field.

The Raiders hadn't played since their loss to the Chiefs as a bye week immediately followed, but they got back to winning ways, which was needed given their underwhelming record. They now sit at 2-4, with some favourable fixtures coming their way.

Adams will be a key part of any success this season, but the receiver was perhaps lucky to not pick up a suspension for his actions at Arrowhead Stadium. It's thought that the NFL will not attempt to intervene until Kansas Police have drawn their conclusions, and even then, the league will only step in if necessary.

But Adams was remorseful following the incident, as he issued an apology in his postgame comments to the media and then later on Twitter. He said: "He jumped in front of me coming off the field.

"I kind of pushed him. He ended up on the ground. I want to apologise to him for that. That was just frustration mixed with him really just running in front of me.

"I shouldn't have responded that way, but that's the way I responded. I want to apologise to him for that.

Raiders coach Josh McDaniels also backed his star following the ugly moment after the game. McDaniels said: "I know that was an unfortunate situation.

"We obviously don't want any of our guys to be doing anything like that. He knows that. He's very well aware of that.

"But I know the person. I don't think there was any intent behind it on his part. But whatever they [the NFL] ask of us, whatever they need from us, obviously, we'll comply."
