The daughter of a man who was having Mass said for him has branded the priest involved as a "hateful man" after he used his sermon to attack LGBT people and same-sex marriages.
Eamon 'Bomber' O'Connor passed away on October 30, 2016, and his anniversary mass was taking place on Sunday.
However, a large portion of the congregation walked out of the service after Father Seán Sheehy's sermon contained damning remarks about "rampant sin" in the community.

Videos shared on social media from the sermon at St Mary's Church in the Kerry town show Father Sheehy telling the congregation: "You rarely hear about sin but it’s rampant. It’s rampant. We see it for example in the legislation.
"We see it in the promotion of abortion, we see it and in the example of this lunatic approach of transgenderism and in the promotion of sex between two men and two women.
“That is sinful. That is a mortal sin.”
It is believed that over 30 people walked out of the Mass upon hearing the sermon - including Eamon O'Connor's daughter Edel.
She took to social media to hit out at the "hateful" words from Father Sheedy.
"It wasn't nice walking out of my Dad's anniversary mass on Sunday but had to be done. That hateful man does not represent Listowel and the people of Listowel. Moments after walking out a rainbow appeared in the sky"
