The daughter of a 9/11 victim has called upon Etsy to remove a design relating to the terrorist attack, which includes the cartoon cat, Garfield, from merchandise after initially seeing it on social media.

Amy Stabile, the daughter of 9/11 victim Herman Broghammer, came across an ad for an Etsy store selling merchandise depicting Garfield the orange cartoon tabby flying a plane into two tall towers apparently made of lasagna.

The image was accompanied by the text "9/11? Yeah I'll take 911... orders of lasagna!"

"When I saw Garfield—I didn't even understand how it goes together. There are so many things you could put on a T-shirt. Why this? You feel so crushed that someone, anyone, could think that the loss of these lives is funny," Stabile told Fox 5 New York.

The merchandise is sold by an Australian store that ships items out of North Carolina called NelliesNestStore. The seller's profile states "Silly Merch for Silly Dudes," and has a five-star rating online. They stock the Garfield 9/11 design in several different colors.

"Maybe it's time to start creating policies where this goes against your company policies," Stabile told FOX 5 NY. "You're making money off terrorism."

"You feel so crushed that someone, anyone, could think that the loss of these lives is funny," she said.

Etsy's policies prohibit items that "promote, support or glorify hatred, those that promote, support or glorify violence."

Stabile has called upon Etsy to "stand up for the families of 9/11.″

Prior to his death, Broghammer served as the senior Vice President of AON Corporation, a company which lost about 176 employees in the September 11 attacks.
