The daughter of a murdered mum has launched a campaign to get emergency life-saving equipment in most public areas.
Louise Nicolson's mum Maureen was tragically stabbed to death on New Year's Day.
Louise was aged just 13 when she discovered her mum dead at their home in Grimsby where a neighbour had visited following a party celebration at a friend's home, as reported by Grimsby Live.
William McPhilbin served 31 years in prison for her murder in 1990.
The neighbour stabbed her 227 times, with Louise fearing that she may see her mum's killer again after he was released four months ago.
The campaigner wants to install a Catastrophic Bleed Kit in most of the pubs and clubs in north Lincolnshire in memory of her mother.
One has already been installed at Steels Cornerhouse Restaurant, which is available to use for anyone who lives in the Cleethorpes area.
Another one has been put in place at Blundell Park, making Grimsby Town FC the first club in the country to have the vital equipment.
The Trawlerman family bar and restaurant in North Sea Lane, Cleethorpes has another kit.
There are a further 28 kits ordered as campaigners seek to raise awareness of how quickly people can bleed to death in an emergency.
Louise said: "Someone can bleed to death in the same time that it takes to boil my kettle and it can happen in all sorts of situations, not just from a stab wound.
"One woman had a mirror fall on her and slash her arm and people accidentally go through glass panes in doors and get catastrophic hemorrhage which happens in car crashes, falling off an e-scooter or simply falling downstairs. You even get sports injuries where bones come out and cut an artery."
She added: "Emergency services are under increasing pressures and in a big county like Lincolnshire it can take a bit longer for the services to get to a patient and that's why it is vital to have the right equipment on standby and plenty of people who know what to do.
"These will help until professional assistance arrives. It is the same principle as defibs, but these do not need an electrical source."
Louise called on supporters to donate towards the appeal to spread awareness of the new kits which she hopes to have in most bars and clubs in northern Lincolnshire with in a year.
It costs £600 to have the cabinet fitted in a place to which the public has access. The kits cost around £96 alone with some having foil blankets to keep a victim warm and dressings. They also contain a tourniquet, gloves and scissors. The kit has a chest seal to help stem bleeding from the chest area, where a tourniquet would not work.
Scunthorpe nurse, Bill Anderson, the CEO of Skill Set Medical said: "We want to get as many people as possible trained in how to use the kits. We have been doing it with defibrillators for over 10 years and this is the next step along the way in providing life-saving equipment in the community.
"We have started in Cleethorpes and will be putting more in Grimsby and hopefully soon in Scunthorpe and Gainsborough and Louth. People in the Grimsby area are already donating to help themselves when the equipment is needed."
The campaigners are grateful to Newlincs of Stallingborough and the staff at Grimsby recycling centre who have already donated towards the appeal.
Louise said: "A few bars were worried how things were going to be once lockdown ended and people started coming back out into the resort. So we got the first cabinet up at Steels. It has my mums name on it as it is all in her memory.
"All through my life I have wanted to do something in her memory and try to save a life. It would not have made a difference to mum as she was stabbed 227 times."
She added: "I just never got round to doing it. Then McPhilbin was released in September. He is not allowed in North East Lincolnshire or parts of Nottingham where it happened.
"There was another case of Daniel Baird, 26 who was stabbed in 2017 in Birmingham. The Foundation has a similar campaign in his memory because no one around him knew what to do or had the equipment to try to save his life. When we read about what happened there I asked if I could do the same here."
Louise has also campaigned unsuccessfully for a photograph of McPhilbin to be released so she can see what he looks like 31 years after murdering her mother and leaving her dead downstairs while her children slept upstairs.
The Victim Commissioner, MPs and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside made enquiries on her behalf but to no avail.
"I am very frustrated that I am not allowed to see what he looks like now," she told.
Louise said she is grateful for the support she has had towards the campaign and hopes there will be kits in most public buildings, including railway stations, parks and council offices. Councillors in Croft Baker ward donated £1,000 of ward funding and in Sidney Sussex £200 was given.
She thanked local builder Jarrod Lill for offering to install cabinets for free in public locations.
Her husband lee told: "It is always better to have the kit ready and not need to use it than need it and not have it. It gives time in order to get an ambulance crew to get there."
