Date of Europa League last 16 draw and who Rangers could face explained

Rangers secured their spot in the last 16 of the Europa League by finishing eighth in the league phase of the revamped UEFA competition.

Philippe Clement's side beat Union Saint-Gilloise in the final league phase match and with other results going in their favour clinched a top eight spot.

In turn, Rangers will skip the knockout play-off round of the competition and advance directly to the round of 16.

When is the Europa League round of 16 draw? 

The draw for the last 16 of the Europa League will take place on Friday, February 21.

Draws for the quarter-final and semi-final will take place at the same UEFA ceremony.

Are Rangers already in the Europa League round of 16? 

Yes. Rangers skip the knockout play-off round after finishing in the top eight of the Europa League.

Who could Rangers play in the Europa League round of 16? 

Rangers will face one of the four sides finishing ninth, 10th, 23rd or 24th in the league phase.

That means either Bodo/Glimt, Anderlecht, FC Twente or Fenerbahce in the round of 16.

When will the Europa League last 16 matches be played? 

The first leg will be played on Thursday, March 6 with the return fixture on Thursday, March 13.

Rangers will play the first leg away from home with the second leg to be played at Ibrox.
