Millions of people on means-tested benefits will receive the first of their cost of living payment this month.
The payments should land automatically in the accounts of those who are eligible. The support package was announced by Rishi Sunak earlier this year to help ease the pressure of soaring energy bills.
Any household that is eligible for the payments do not need to apply and should receive two direct payments - one this month and then another later on in the year - due to the fact that an automated system is being used. The first set of payments across the board will be worth £326 while the second payment will be worth £324 - totalling £650.

“We need to make sure that for those whom the struggle is too hard, and for those whom the risks are too great, they are supported,’’ Mr Sunak said in the House of Commons while unveiling the new support package.
Here's a summary of when you should expect the first set of cost of living payments to enter your account this month:
When you'll be paid
Universal Credit - Between July 14 and 31 for the first payment then Autumn 2022 for the second payment
Income-based JSA -Between July 14 and 31 for the first payment then Autumn 2022 for the second payment
Income-related ESA - Between July 14 and 31 for the first payment then Autumn 2022 for the second payment
Income Support - Between July 14 and 31 for the first payment then Autumn 2022 for the second payment
Pension Credit - Between July 14 and 31 for the first payment then Autumn 2022 for the second payment
Tax Credits - First payment in Autumn 2020 then second payment in Winter 2022
What if I don't receive the money but believe I am eligible?
A DWP spokesperson said: “We are on track to give eight million low-income households their first cost of living instalment from this month. In a small number of unique cases with more complex circumstances, the payments will take slightly longer to process.
"But all eligible households will automatically receive the first instalment, and no one needs to worry they will miss out.”
However, if you have not received the money after July 31 and believe you are eligible, you should contact the office responsible for paying your benefits. Make sure to inform them that you have not received your payment and explain why you think you are eligible.
