‘Dasvi’: Abhishek Bachchan to hold a special screening for inmates of Agra jail

After a successful trailer launch of ‘Dasvi’, actor Abhishek Bachchan is counting days for his film to finally hit the bigscreen. It’s his first film of 2022 and fans can’t wait to see him essaying the role of a jailed politician, Ganga Ram Chaudhary in the film

While the film revolves around Abhishek as the lead spending time in jail and completing his education, it has been shot in the real-life location of Agra Central jail with real convicts as a part of the frame. The makers of ‘Dasvi’ has now shared their plans to arrange a special screening for the inmates of the jail sometime this week.

Talking about it, Abhishek told a news portal that the decision to hold the special show is a part of their promise to the inmates. “we promised them that have worked on the film that we will come back and show you the film. So I’m very excited for them to see it,” he told News18.

‘Dasvi’ premiered on April 7, on an OTT platform. Apart from Abhishek, it also stars Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam in key roles.

It’s backed by Dinesh Vijan who had previously shared, “Dasvi is yet another attempt at providing a wholesome family watch that entertains and enlightens”.

“Abhishek, Yami and Nimrat have knocked it out of the park. Audiences will fall in love with all three of them by the end,” he added about the promising film cast.

It is helmed by director Tushar Jalota. "Ever since we conceived Dasvi, it was clear we have a unique film in hand, one that tickles people’s funny bones and makes them realise there is magic in knowledge. I can’t wait for audiences to witness this special tale,” he had shared in a statement.
