A Darwin woman in her 60s has died at Royal Darwin Hospital with COVID-19, the territory's 34th coronavirus-related death.
In a statement, NT Health said the woman had "underlying health conditions" but did not provide detail as to when she died.
A NT Health spokesman later said the woman had died on March 24, with her death confirmed as COVID-related, in line with national criteria, yesterday.
The territory currently has 14 patients in hospital with coronavirus, with two people in need of oxygen and two in intensive care.
The NT is today reporting 503 cases of COVID-19, 436 of which came from positive rapid antigen tests (RATs).
Yesterday, the territory recorded 408 new cases, with 279 announced on Monday.
The last time the NT recorded more than 500 cases in 24 hours was March 4, with 660 reported.
Of today's new cases, 395 were recorded in the Top End, 22 in Central Australia, seven in East Arnhem, 36 in the Big Rivers, zero in the Barkly and 43 were still under investigation.
There are now 2,369 active cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Territory.
