The latest Darwin Nunez transfer news has indicated that Liverpool are considering selling the Uruguayan striker.
Nunez has struggled to live up to the hefty £85 million fee that the Reds spent on the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window in 2022.
This season, Nunez has scored just two Premier League goals and has netted four times in all competitions. His last strike came against Southampton in the League Cup on December 18.
Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have often been preferred as the lone striker since new boss Arne Slot took over the reins at Anfield. Nunez has completed 90 minutes on just five occasions in 2024/25.
Since joining from Benfica, Nunez has scored 37 times for the Merseysiders across 119 appearances. Now, TeamTalk are reporting that the Uruguayan’s time could be up with the league leaders.
🚨 Liverpool are open to selling Darwin Nunez and have identified Marcus Thuram, along with Alexander Isak as potential replacements.

Darwin Nunez Transfer News – Two Stars Could Replace Liverpool Forward
If Liverpool are to move Darwin Nunez on, Newcastle United star Alexander Isak has been identified as a potential replacement. The Super Swede is arguably the greatest striker in Europe at the moment.
The Magpies would begrudgingly enter into negotiations for the sale of Isak to satisfy PSR constraints. However, the price will most certainly have to be right.
At the back end of 2024, the Toon Army slapped a £115 million price tag on Isak. After his stunning end to the year, Eddie Howe’s side may ask for more.
That would certainly thwart the Reds attempts to sign him who may not want to spend such a lofty sum on just one player.
Therefore, Inter’s Marcus Thuram is viewed as a more likely option. Owing mainly to the fact he has a release clause which is much lower than Isak’s asking price.
The French international has scored 13 times in 22 appearances for the Serie A giants in all competitions this season. The Italians are under no pressure to sell but a sizeable offer would be hard to ignore.
Whilst Nunez’s future hangs in the balance, Milan are understood to be considering a loan bid in January. A fee of £5 million has been mooted but it remains to be seen if the Merseysiders are happy to let him go mid-season.
