Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez appears to be eager to go straight back into the Reds team for Saturday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
The Uruguayan has completed the three-match ban he was given following his red card on his Anfield debut against Crystal Palace last month, when he was given his marching orders following a headbutt on Palace defender Joachim Andersen.
Nunez missed the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford as well as the home wins over Bournemouth and Newcastle, but he now seems ready to return for Jurgen Klopp's side against their local rivals.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Nunez simply wrote "time to go back" alongside an image of him in training.
Klopp will have kept a close eye on the forward at the club's Kirkby base in the last couple of weeks, and will hope he will continue to make the impact he saw from him in his opening two competitive appearances for the club when he came off the bench to score against both Manchester City in the Community Shield and Fulham in the Premier League.
It could well be that Klopp prefers to name Nunez on the bench again on Saturday instead of in his starting lineup though, especially due to the recent impact of Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian netted twice in the 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth last weekend, and scored the Reds' first goal as they came from behind to beat Newcastle in midweek.
Fabio Carvalho's last-gasp winner against the Magpies sparked wild scenes in the Liverpool dugout, where several unavailable Liverpool players, including Nunez, celebrated with gusto.
The Portuguese youngster is also pushing for a place in Klopp's starting lineup after scoring off the bench in his last two appearances, while new loan signing Arthur Melo is expected to be available.
Skipper Jordan Henderson limped off with a hamstring problem against Newcastle and has joined the club's ranks of injured midfielders, but Curtis Jones was an unused substitute in midweek and could be set to make his first Premier League appearance of the season.
James Milner is another candidate to replace Henderson, but Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all expected to be unavailable.
After completing his loan move from Juventus on Thursday, Arthur say he's raring to go for his new club.
“I’m really, really happy to be here wearing this great shirt with this famous badge that represents so much in world football, it’s a dream," the 26-year-old told Liverpool's official website.
“We talked a lot [with Klopp], and our ideas and visions were a good fit so I’m sure it was the right choice. I’m really happy and highly motivated to continue living my dream on the pitch and giving my all in a Liverpool shirt.”
