Darwin Nunez's FIFA 22 rating assessed with Liverpool transfer confirmed

Darwin Nunez has completed his move from Benfica to Liverpool, the club has confirmed.

The Liverpool ECHO reported on Sunday that the Reds were closing in on the signing of the 22-year-old striker. The Portuguese giants then released a statement confirming they had agreed his sale to Liverpool, with the striker officially being announced as a Reds player on Tuesday afternoon.

The initial sum Benfica will receive is believed to be £64.1m (€75m), plus a possible £21.3m (€25m) in add-ons, with Nunez becoming the Reds' second signing of the summer following the arrival Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.

So, how does Nunez compare to the rest of the Liverpool squad? We assessed the Uruguayan's FIFA 22 profile to find out more about the new Anfield star.

Darwin Nunez's FIFA 22 rating assessed

Overall rating: 79/100

Overall Potential: 87/100

Positions: ST, LW

Weak Foot: Three Star

Skill Moves: Three Star

After initially being given a 76 rating on FIFA 22 when the game was launched, Nunez has increased by three overall ratings over the course of the season, and is now rated 79 out of 99 overall. A relatively low rating, but being just 22, the forward has room to improve and can expect a big upgrade going into FIFA 23.

Compared to the rest of the current Liverpool forwards, Nunez has a lower overall rating than Mohamed Salah (91), Sadio Mane (89), Diogo Jota (85), Roberto Firmino (85) and Luis Diaz (84). That leaves Takumi Minamino (75) as the only senior forward lower-rated than Nunez.

But, despite that, Nunez has a very high potential rating of 87 out of 99 - a rating which would make him one of the highest-rated forwards in the world. And compared to the rest of the Reds squad, his potential rating is the same as Harvey Elliot (87) and Diaz (87), while it's just behind Jota (89).

Nunez boasts a selection of high-rated attributes, with his best being his acceleration (91), stamina (89) and strength (88) - all attributes that suit Jurgen Klopp's attacking system. His 88 strength would be the second-best at Liverpool, with only Virgil van Dijk (93) higher.

His rapid acceleration would also be the second-highest at the club, only behind Mane (92) and Diaz (92). Andrew Robertson has the highest stamina at Liverpool (95), but Nunez would be second best at the club, joint with Trent Alexander-Arnold (89).

The attacker's finishing and composure is rated 82 out of 99 while his shot power is rated 85, showing he is a decent finisher, but still has room to improve. When it comes to passing, Nunez is only rated at 69 out of 99 for his short passing and 71 out of 99 for vision, potentially showing that he will act as more of a finisher for Klopp rather than playing on the wing and creating chances.

Overall, Nunez's FIFA 22 profile shows he is well suited to the Reds. His pace and physical attributes stand out, and despite his current rating not being very high, his potential shows just how good of a player he can become under the guidance of Klopp.
