Nunez caught red-handed
Darwin Nunez was spotted stamping a foot at a rival defender before Ghana missed a penalty in the match against Uruguay.
Ghana's World Cup clash with Uruguay took just 20 minutes to descend into the type of drama predicted as the African side missed another penalty against their South American rivals. Ghana were awarded another spot-kick after a lengthy VAR review this afternoon, with Daniel Sibert adjudging Sergio Rochet to have brought down Mohammed Kudus in the box.

Uruguay protested the decision vehemently, and while his teammates gestured with the referee, Nunez cheekily took matters into his own hand. The current Reds star stamped on the penalty spot while Ghanian players were huddled around trying to protect it, attempting to rough up the ground with which Andre Ayew would eventually miss. Nunez faced plenty of anger from the African side and was booked for his troubles.
It all ended in tears for the Liverpool man, however, with his side eliminated from the tournament despite being the African side 2-0. Hwang Hee-chan's 91st-minute winner handed South Korea a crucial win over Portugal to send them into second, leapfrogging Uruguay on goals scored.
Reds fans agree on Suarez moment
It's 2022 and yes, Luis Suarez could still nutmeg a mermaid.
The former Liverpool striker faced an old foe in Ghana as Uruguay looked to pick up their first win of the tournament and qualify from Group H. Suarez is far from a hero in the African country, with not-so-fond memories of his infamous handball in the 2010 World Cup quarter-finals still a source of fury among fans and players.
It took less than 20 minutes for the predicted drama to ensure, with Ghana awarded a penalty after Mohammed Kudus was brought down. But Andre Ayew's dismal spot-kick was comfortable saved before Uruguay went up the other end and scored two goal in six minutes - both scored by Giorgian de Arrascaeta and both set up by Suarez.
Amid all the chaos, the 35-year-old then produced a trademark moment, nutmegging Iñaki Williams - a piece of magic that Liverpool fans are all too familiar with.
