Darren Till offers scathing Love Island review with Francis Ngannou claim

Darren Till has labelled contestants on popular TV reality show Love Island as the "worst gobs****" on the planet whilst also slamming those who watch the programme.

On the programme, a group of men and women looking for love complete a series of tasks over eight weeks with the chance of winning £50,000. This year's series, which started earlier this week, is being filmed in the Balearic Islands and features a range of contestants such as the daughter of now-retired football star Michael Owen.

UFC middleweight star Till is by no means a fan of Love Island and said he would rather let heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou "spend the night with his girl" than tune into the hit TV programme.

“I swear to God, I would rather let Francis Ngannou spend the night with my girl rather than watch 1 millisecond of that Love Island! Absolute worst gobs**** on the planet & the people that watch it are worse," he tweeted.

Fans were quick to react to Till's tweet, with one writing: "Trying to stay away from any talk of it is very difficult. It’s like they’re trying to force it on us." Another asked him: "Would you rather take an uppercut from him, or watch a full season?"

"I always felt like I was the only one who's never watched it. Hearing people talk about it make me know it's a complete waste of time," another user replied to the UFC star.

Till is scheduled to fight for the first time in over six months when he challenges Jack Hermansson in the co-main event of UFC London on July 23. 'The Gorilla' is without a win since outpointing former title challenger Kelvin Gastelum in 2019.

Moving up to middleweight after consecutive losses at 170lb, Till beat Gastelum in his debut at the weight class but has since lost fights to top contenders Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson. In a bid to improve his wrestling skills, he travelled to Sweden to train with Khamzat Chimaev earlier this year.

Meanwhile, heavyweight champion Ngannou (who hasn't responded to Till's tweet) is currently recovering from a knee injury. 'The Predator' is ruled out for the rest of the year after undergoing knee surgery in March following his UFC 270 win against Ciryl Gane.
