Darko Gyabi can’t wait to get started at Leeds United after making the move to Elland Road to further his career. The Whites completed the signing of Gyabi from Man City this morning with the youngster penning a four-year deal with the club.
The 18-year-old, who was once on the books at Millwall, has been a key player in City’s academy over the last few years, representing the club’s under-18s and under-23s in title-winning campaigns. He made 10 appearances last season as the club won the Premier League 2 and with one goal coming in a 5-0 win over Derby County.
Gyabi also made an appearance in front of 21,000 fans at Elland Road in April, as City’s young guns claimed a 3-1 win in West Yorkshire. However, despite shining so brightly at youth level, Gyabi is still waiting to make his senior debut as a player and he’ll hope that can come in the white of Leeds.

“I am really excited,” he told LUTV after joining Leeds. “Obviously I have seen that they’ve given the young players a lot of opportunities in the first team here.
“I think it was nine debuts in the Premier League last season, so that’s really good! I know a bit about the club, it’s a great club. The fans are what has attracted me the most. I played here last season and the fans were crazy in an Under-23s game!
“So, I can’t imagine how that’s going to be in a full stadium.”
Speaking about his style of play and what he can bring to Leeds, Gyabi added: “I like to get on the ball. I like to drive with the ball and carry the ball, I am creative and I like to score goals as well, I can keep possession and play forward.
“Off the ball I am very aggressive and I can press, I work hard as well. I want to push and help as much as I can with the team, get into the squad and show what I am about.”
