Ryan Thomas and Tina O'Brien were once the toast of the soap world - until they broke up and things turned sour.
The pair, who played Jason Grimshaw and Sarah Platt on Coronation Street, got together on the cobbles following Tina's romance with co-star Bruno Langley, 38.
Ryan, 37, and Tina, 38, were together for six years and share a daughter Scarlett, now 13.
After meeting her co-star, the actress told The Mirror: "Ryan and me are for keeps. I think we'll be together for ever, fingers crossed. I don't see myself with anyone else."
However in 2009, the Mancs in Mumbai star called time on their relationship, with Tina revealing the heartbreaking reason why.
Claiming Ryan had dumped her just a month before Scarlett's first birthday, she said: "He said he didn't love me any more.
"He said I didn't do it for him any more. Those were his words. I was absolutely devastated. He said he didn't want the responsibility of a relationship with me," she told new! magazine.
Tina said she begged Ryan to change his mind, but he reportedly refused to 'fix' their romance.
"Ryan can be a very loving and nice guy, but he can also be laddy," she said. "He was keen to go out a lot."
Tina quit Corrie the same year she had Scarlett, and had been planning to return before Ryan reportedly talked her out of it.
"Maybe he knew he was going to end it and didn't want the hassle of us working together," she mused.
The actress did eventually rejoin the soap in 2015, but Ryan left the following year, heading Down Under for a surprise stint in Neighbours.
The actor then started dating TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, 30, in 2017, who he shares son Roman with.
The couple got engaged in 2019 and now have another baby on the way.
When the pair shared a video of Scarlett being told they were expecting for the first time, the little girl burst into "happy tears".
However mum Tina clapped back posting: "Don't always trust what you see on social media. Even salt looks like sugar."
She later deleted the post, before writing: "Don't waste your time with explanations. People will hear what they want to hear."
Tina is now married to Adam Croft and the pair share a son, Beau, aged 7.
Despite their differences, Ryan and Tina couldn't be prouder of their talented daughter, Scarlett.
The teen is following in her famous parents' footsteps and going into acting.
In exciting news Ryan and Tina announced their girl had bagged a plum role on BBC's Waterloo Road.
And keeping things in the family, Scarlett will be playing the daughter of Ryan's brother Adam Thomas, who is also an actor.
Posting on Instagram about his daughter's success, Ryan wrote: "The secret is finally out!!! As a Father & big brother it doesn’t get much better in life to find out that my brother is going back to Waterloo Road and that Scarlett is going to play his daughter in the show."
Tina gushed: "Very excited to finally be able to announce that my gorgeous, lovely, talented Scarlett Thomas will be in the new series of @waterlooroad @bbciplayer #proudmum."
