Reckless criminals have torched a car in a residential area of Paisley sparking a police appeal for information.
A white Audi A4 was set alight deliberately around 9.45pm on Saturday night.
The firebugs targeted the car which was located near Merksworth Way in the Shortroods area of town.
Police say that there was a dark-coloured saloon car in the area at the time and are looking to speak to the driver or its occupants.
The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured. The car, however, was severely damaged.
Detective Constable Barry Gourley said: “Fortunately no one was injured but the vehicle was extensively damaged.
“A dark-coloured saloon car was seen at the time of the incident which left in the direction of Inchinnan Road and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen it or its occupants.
“In addition, anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist with our investigation is asked to get in touch.”
