Danny Mills makes Arsenal comparison as he gives his Marcelo Bielsa Leeds United verdict

Former England international Danny Mills doesn't think that Marcelo Bielsa will quit Leeds United despite the club's recent run of form.

The Whites suffered their third successive defeat with a thumping 6-0 loss at Liverpool in midweek, as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both struck a brace, while Virgil van Djik and Joel Matip also found the net at Anfield.

It's a result that leaves Leeds three points above the relegation zone following Burnley's impressive 1-0 win over Tottenham Hoptsur.

There has been some calls for Bielsa to depart Elland Road to ensure the Whites stay in the division, but Mills believes that he will stay and fight to keep them up.

Asked whether he thought the Argentine would quit, Mills told Football Insider : “No.“

He added: “I think he will stay until the end of the season. I don’t see it changing.

“It’s a bit like Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, he needed a goalkeeper, a centre-half, a holding midfield player. But it was like ‘No, I’m going to keep proving you wrong’.

“You almost feel as though that’s what Bielsa is in at the moment, he thinks ‘It’s successful, it’s my way and I will you show it’s my way’.

“The system was amazing to start with. Got promoted to the Premier League and it was brilliant. In the first season, it was new, it was high energy and it was different to any team played was successful.

“I don’t think Bielsa will go and he’ll be always a hero at Leeds for getting them back into the Premier League.”

Leeds are next in action when they host Tottenham this weekend.

Leicester City, Aston Villa, Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers await the Whites before the March international break and this period is crucial to ensure they pick up some points in their pursuit of survival.
