Danny Jones’ wife Georgia Horsley made shocking comments about the McFly star just months before his alleged kiss with Maura Higgins.
Jones, 38, appeared to kiss his I’m A Celebrity campmate Higgins, 34, at a Brits after-party on Saturday night, causing fans to speculate about his 10-year marriage to Horsley.
Amid the controversy, Horsley’s previous admission that she thought Jones was a “top s***er” and refused to date him for a year has resurfaced.
The Miss England winner, 38, met Jones in 2008 and they married in 2014. They share a seven-year-old son called Cooper.
Speaking on the Never Have I Ever Joel Dommett and Hannah Cooper podcast in November 2024, Horsley said Jones had “two other dates” lined up when he asked her out.
“He was a bit of a d**k, and I didn't really like him,” the model turned podcast host said and added that he “tried for a year” to win a date with her.
“I do like to drop that into conversation every now and again. He wanted me for a year,” she recalled.
“I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date. I didn't really want to. My mum went, ‘Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.’”
She recalled thinking Jones would be a stereotypical partying musician, saying: “I said, ‘He's probably going to be a bit of a top s***ger, isn't he?'
“I just assumed. I treated him mean, kept him keen - without realising.”
Jones shared a similar story about how he won her over during his stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle in December.
He recalled meeting her at an event and being instantly smitten with the model and her Northern accent, saying: “It took me a year to get her because I invited her out for a roast. It was just like clubbing, we couldn't talk.
“I was like ‘do you wanna go to the pub tomorrow?’ and she was like ‘Yeah.’ I text her in the morning and she was like, ‘Sorry, I can't make it.’
“And then weeks went on and she didn't make it, couldn't make it, turning me down. And I gave up in the end. Then about eleven months later she text me saying, ‘Do you wanna go out for a drink or get breakfast?’ and I was like ‘Yes!’
“So I picked her up and took her to the waffle house in St. Albans. That was literally like twelve months later.”
Jones raised eyebrows when he appeared to share an alleged “brief drunken kiss” with Love Island star Higgins at the Universal Music’s Brit Awards after-party in the early hours of the morning.
The pair, who attended the star-studded bash at 180 Studios in central London, were seen spending time together throughout the night.
Onlookers captured footage of them at around 3am, before the stars headed their separate ways.
Sources said Jones and Higgins - who is currently single following her split from TOWIE and Strictly star Pete Wicks - were “having a great time” together.
An insider told The Sun, who published footage of the alleged kiss: “Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages.”
Their night together ended in the foyer, where they were caught on camera appearing to kiss before parting ways.
Not long after, both were seen at Sony’s after-party at the Nobu Hotel, still smiling and joking about the night’s events.
