Danny Jones has broken his silence on social media after being caught up since the scandal surrounding his and former I’m A Celebrity co-star Maura Higgins’s “drunken kiss” at a BRIT Awards afterparty.
The married McFly musician and ex Love Islander hit headlines after being caught on film seemingly locking lips on March 1.
None of the parties involved have addressed the situation publicly.
Jones’ wife Georgia was inundated when she posted for the first time online on Tuesday, sharing a picture of the couple’s seven-year-old son Cooper.
Meanwhile, the It’s All About You hit-maker re-shared a number of posts from friends and fans wishing him happy 39th birthday on Wednesday.
However, according to an insider it was more a case of Jones wanting to acknowledge his fans for their support and is trying to keep his “head down”.
A source told the Mirror: "It’s been a really tough time for Danny and his family so he has kept his head down and tried to work things through.
“He is so thankful for the love of his fans during all of this time, and wanted to acknowledge then after they sent him birthday messages. He is hopeful that him and Georgia can now work through their problems and look forward to healing together in private. They are very much together still.”
Model and podcast star Georgia - who has been married to Jones for 10 year - is said to have been left “humiliated” by the incident with Higgins.
In addition to swerving a planned live Q&A at the Baby Show last weekend, she was also absent from the latest episode of podcast Mum’s the Word, which she co-hosts weekly with Kelsey Parker.
Higgins is currently in Los Angeles working, but is said to “deeply regret” her embrace with married Jones and called the move “stupid”.
