Danny Ings to Celtic gathers pace amid 'race' to sign for EPL striker

Celtic are reportedly among the clubs looking at Danny Ings as a potential loan option as we head into the final hours of transfer deadline day.

Brendan Rodgers is seeking a striker having seen Kyogo leave for Rennes last week.

Jota did come in, however, as it stands, Adam Idah is the only recognised first-team striker in the ranks of the Scottish Premiership champions.

Ings, 32, has struggled for game time in the Premier League at The Hammers this season.

He has managed just one goal this term and has yet to make a start since Graham Potter arrived at the club in recent weeks.

The Sun claims that Celtic are one of a number of clubs keep on top of Ings' situation.

The report states that Everton, Southampton and Leeds United are all interested too.

Rodgers is a fan of the frontman having signed him at Liverpool.

Celtic are on the cusp of signing Jeffrey Schlupp on loan from Crystal Palace, as they fill the left-back void vacated by Alex Valle.
