Danny Ings has been handed the No.18 shirt at West Ham after completing a £12m move to the club on Friday.

The striker has been registered in time to play in Saturday’s crunch Premier League meeting with Everton.

Goals have been hard to come by for David Moyes’ side this season and the signing of a new forward was made a priority.

While the club made a £25m bid for Lorient forward Terem Moffi, they then moved quickly to bring Ings to the London Stadium on a two-and-a-half year contract.

The 30-year-old has scored six in the Premier League this season but had fallen out of favour under Unai Emery, starting only once under the former Arsenal manager.

Ings, who scored 22 Premier League goals during the 2019-20 season, has vowed to hit the ground running in east London.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ings said: “It’s important I settle in as quickly as I can do – and do the important stuff on the pitch for West Ham.

“We’ve got some massive games ahead of us – and I’ve come here to try and score as many goals as I can to help the team to get some positive results.

“I’m really looking forward to getting started.”
