Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has shut down speculation linking striker Danny Ings with a move away from the club this month.
Ings came off the bench to rescue his side a point against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Wednesday night. However, just hours earlier a report emerged claiming Everton had failed in a bid to sign the forward on loan.
The report by the Daily Mail claimed the Blues wanted to get a deal done for the former Liverpool man before the start of the month, only to be knocked back by Villa. Ings has netted 13 goals and contributed six assists in 47 Premier League appearances during his time at Villa Park.

But although Emery did admit, following his side’s 1-1 draw with Julen Lopetegui’s men, that discussions have been held with some other players regarding potential departures, the former Arsenal boss revealed Ings will be going nowhere this month.
“Danny is a very good player,” he said post-match. “He played in the first eleven against Brighton and he scored two goals. He usually has a very good impact. Today we needed him and he helped the team. I am so happy with his commitment and performance.
“I spoke to some players about the possibility of leaving but not with him. I didn’t speak to Danny about it. The idea is to keep him in the squad. I don’t know [if there has been an offer from Everton or anyone else]. The club has not told me anything.”
