Danny Dyer has opened up about his previously strained relationship with his father.
During the most recent episode of his hit podcast, Sorted With The Dyers, the EastEnders actor discussed how his father's 'double life' affected him as a child.
The 44-year-old actor spoke to his daughter Dani, 25, about how his dad 'f**ked up' when Danny and his siblings were still very young.
After a podcast listener asked the father-daughter dup for some advise on his dilemma with his dad, the Mick Carter actor offered some words of wisdom from his own experience.
The listener detailed his strained relationship with his dad, and asked Danny and Dani whether or not he should continue to reach out to his estranged parent after he started a new life with another woman.
Responding to the hurtful dilemma, Danny told the listener that he could '100% relate' to the situation due to the fact his own father 'f**ked off' when he was only nine-years-old.
"It's a tricky one. I had a bit of this as a kid too," Danny explained.
"My old man, who I love very much and who I talk about quite a bit on this podcast, he f**ked up.
"He f**ked off when I was nine and he was basically seeing someone else and he was living two lives.
"He had two children with someone else and he was living two different lives - it was like a double whammy really."
Danny went on: "I found out that my dad was leaving at a very young age because my mum and dad weren't in love anymore.
"And I also found out that I had two other siblings along with that."
Weighing in on the discussion, the actor's daughter Dani said the situation must have been incredibly hard for her dad to accept.
In response, Danny confessed: "Well, at the time I was very intrigued by it. I was like 'what do you mean I've got two other sisters?'
"One of my sisters was I think maybe 5 years younger than me, and the other was 10 years younger.
"It makes you grow up quickly, I'll tell you that - because you're starting to talk about adult stuff at such a young age."
Before the end of the podcast, Danny revealed that he now has a wonderful relationship with his father, Anthony, after the pair managed to mend the rift in their bond.
