Ex-Eastenders star Danniella Westbrook was taken to hospital after she says she was left stuck in London without money. The actress posted a series of tweets on Twitter claiming banking app Revolut had frozen her account.
She claimed she was left freezing and without the means to pay for food, a room for the night or transport home. And she said she ended up so troubled by the situation that she suffered three panic attacks and had to be taken to hospital by someone.
Revolut has since said it sometimes temporarily freezes customer's accounts to protect their money.
The star first tweeted late on Wednesday night. This was then followed by a string of other messages as the night went on.
She wrote: "It’s now nearly 11pm ! I can’t even use my card to get a tube it’s really not on to do this to anyone @RevolutApp this late in the evening especially when I sent you all the info within minutes of you freezing my account"
Other tweets followed. And by 3am she posted: "@RevolutApp it's now been 7 hours of being in London with no access to my money to get home or get a hotel !!! It's an absolute joke! I had such a bad anxiety attack after 4 hours of not being able to even get a bottle of water as all cards frozen over one payment!"
She continued: "So you freeze my cards and account at 8:30 pm and give me loads of messages saying you have escalated the verification when I have you the details in minutes. It's now 3.07 am and my anxiety of being stranded on my own for 7 hours in central London at night."

The star then told how she had panic attacks which led to a hospital trip. She wrote: "Now seven hours later was freezing waiting in London for access to my bank account or cards had three panic attacks and someone thankfully got me to a&e. I’m now calm but still sat waiting for @RevolutApp to let me access my money & they had the check to inbox me 'Get well soon'."
The actress, who played Sam Mitchell in the BBC One soap, told in December how she had Strep A which could have killed her. Posting on Instagram she said doctors told her at the time that she was "hours away from a cardiac arrest" when she was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Revolut said: "Revolut may temporarily restrict a customer’s account. Account restrictions are rare but may be necessary in order to keep the customer's money safe."
