Danniella Westbrook rushed to hospital after contracting Septicemia

Danniella Westbrook is recovering after she was rushed to hospital after suffering from Septicemia.

The former EastEnders star was found to be suffering with potentially fatal blood poisoning condition after a sudden decline in her health, writes The Mirror.

Sepsis can lead to multiple organ failure and even death if not treated right away.

A rep for the star told The Sun the former EastEnders actress is now back home recovering after her ordeal.

They said: "Danniella suffered a sudden health shock.

"Thankfully the issue was caught early and dealt with by medical professionals. Danniella has been released from hospital and is home recovering with the support of close family."

Danniella hinted that all was not well this week as she posted to Instagram saying she was spending another day in bed sick.

The 48-year-old star said she was planning to head off on a "much needed inner child reiki meditation and sound healing spiritual retreat" when she was feeling better.

It comes after Danniella recently went under the knife to reconstruct her face.

The star was left with crumbling features after overcoming her drug addiction and battling osteoporosis.

Danniella said she went ahead with the surgery to restore her confidence after being sent horrific taunts by online trolls.

The mum-of-two opted for facial reconstructive surgery on the NHS after private plastic surgeons told her the op would set her back £500,000.

She told The Sun : 'I've spent the last seven years trying to get somebody to do it, but they said no in case it failed and they got struck off.

"Plastic surgeons wanted £500,000 to change my face, so I thought I was never going to get it done. It was only because I went into intensive care before Christmas.

"I couldn't breathe because I had a cold. There was a build up of fluid and after I fell asleep I couldn't wake up properly and ended up in ICU.

"I was sent over to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool and it's only because I was put in front of the right doctors, or else I'd still be waiting now to find someone."

Danniella had previously tried out a rib insertion procedure in 2018 as well as filler and botox to improve the look of her face after her health issues.

She has been honest about her struggles and famously had her nose reconstructed when her septum collapsed in 2002 after excessive cocaine use.
