The Danish PFA have responded after Celtic's Kasper Schmeichel was criticised following his country's 5-2 defeat to Portugal on Sunday.
Although the veteran stopper saved a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo in the match, he couldn't prevent Denmark from falling out of the Nations League at the quarter-final stage.
Schmeichel was then condemned by Danish publication Ekstra Bladet after his performance in the defeat.
Michael Sahl Hansen, chief of the Danish PFA, has now recently his out at the article: "It is way over the line," he said (Record).
"Hopefully, the journalist is undergoing some serious soul-searching.

"The way of writing about another person is completely wrong. And we in the Players' Association have to say that clearly and distinctly.
"[It's] completely distasteful to try to denigrate a player in that way by drawing parallels to a deeply serious illness and by fat-shaming.
"Anders Olsen's article is a flawed, flat and sad example of the need for this particular initiative. The article is under all criticism and could easily make him a strong candidate for the role of clown in an upcoming campaign film for the initiative.
"We must have room to discuss and debate in Danish football. And it is, of course, entirely appropriate to have professional opinions and analyses about the game and performances.
"But it must be done in a proper way, where one does not descend to such a low level and engage in direct personal attacks as here. And here, the media (also) have a great responsibility not to incite a hateful or borderline tone.
"I believe that Anders Olsen was not up to the task, that he must have gotten carried away in a really angry tone, and that in my world, he owes an apology."
Schmeichel picked up an injury in the defeat, the extent of which remains to be seen.
Viljami Sinisalo is reportedly 'set' to start for Celtic against Heart of Midlothian this weekend in the veteran's likely absence.
