Danilo to Arsenal transfer: Edu priority, £20m bid rejected, Palmeiras stance, contract detail

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Palmeiras talent Danilo with just hours left in the summer transfer window to secure a deal for the Brazilian midfielder.

Mikel Arteta has been clear in his demands to add one or two more signings to his squad before the transfer window shuts tonight. football.london understands a deal for Danilo could prove difficult with Palmeiras reluctant to sell, but negotiations could be revisited in January should the Gunners fail to secure a move for the Brazilian today.

Arsenal are said to be targeting a central midfield signing as a 'priority' following injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny. With that being said, football.london takes a look at all the latest speculation on the 24-year-old midfielder's potential move to the Emirates Stadium.

£20m bid 'submitted'

GOAL, via The Mirror, have claimed that the Gunners submitted a £20million bid for Danilo on Tuesday, although Palmeiras are expected to reject Arsenal's proposal.

The 21-year-old missed Palmeiras' 1-0 defeat against Athletico Paranaense in the Copa Libertadores semi-final first leg earlier today due to suspension.

The midfielder, who started his career in the Brazilian second-tier at PFC Cajazeiras, has a contract that runs until December 2026 with his current club.
