Danilo provides Rangers injury update after successful surgery

Rangers striker Danilo has provided a positive update on his knee injury.

The Ibrox forward will be sidelined at least until the winter break after picking up a knock against Hearts earlier this month.

Philippe Clement confirmed the striker would likely require surgery on the issue with fears over a long period on the sidelines.

Now, Danilo has shared an update with Rangers supporters after having successful surgery on the knee issue.

On Instagram, Danilo said: "The surgery went well. Just wanted to give you guys an update."

Then, alongside a photograph of his knee post-op, Danilo wrote: "When God is on your side, you will not fight to lose, but you will overcome many battles."

A final post on his story stated: "Back home. Revalidation starts now. Time to come back stronger."

Revealing the injury blow last week, Clement said: "Danilo will be out also so that's not so good news. The chances are he requires surgery.

"[Until the winter break?] No, maybe after also but we will not get them back before the winter break.

"A problem with his knee because of a bad tackle in the game."

Asked for clarification on how Danilo's injury was inflicted, Clement said: "It was an unlucky situation, it's part of football. I didn't say it was a bad tackle or somebody should have had a red card.

"It was a tackle and because of the contact he had a problem with his knee afterwards."
