Danilo bid made by Rangers as striker hunt turns to Feyenoord star and Abdallah Sima could be had for keeps

Rangers have lodged a bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo as Michael Beale ramps up his search for a new striker.

The 24-year-old was a key contributor for Arne Slot's side who won the Eredivisie title last season with 14 goals in all competitions. Rangers have honed in on the Brazilian amid their ongoing search for a new forward to lead the line. Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers has long been admired by the Ibrox side, however, it appears Danilo is now the frontrunner to join Beale aboard his Ibrox revamp.

The Herald report Rangers continue to monitor Dessers but Danilo is now firmly on their radar as a potential partner for Sam Lammers after his switch from Atalanta. Rangers have been busy this summer with Abdallah Sima set to become signing number five after the arrivals of Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and the aforementioned Lammers. And a forward has long been on the radar of Beale who is looking for extra ammo in the final third.

Yet a report in Holland suggests the Ibrox side's opening bid has been rejected, and that it falls someway short of Feyenoord's lofty valuation of their key asset. It is suggested, however, that the Eredivisie winners will listen to further offers for the attacker.
