Daniella Draper's national awards double as sentiment and sustainability shines through

Grimsby-based jewellery brand Daniella Draper has won two national awards - with one some 16 years in the making and another for designs helping make memories for life.

The family business has taken Marketing Campaign/Event of the Year at the 2023 National Association of Jewellers’ Awards as well as being named the UK’s Most Sustainable and Timeless Luxury Jewellery Brand at the 2023 Global Wedding Awards.

The first, recognises the success of a campaign that saw suppliers and customers tell stories relating to the bestselling Signature Bangle, created by designer and co-founder Daniella while she studied her craft. The promotional activity showcased how recycled metal is used to capture the handcrafted essence, going on to hear from wearers about the meanings behind the inscribed jewellery.

Daniella said: “We are so honoured to have won at this year's awards, especially for a campaign which features our lovely customers. It's something we are extremely proud of. I created the Signature Bangle whilst studying at Central Saint Martins almost 16 years ago and it’s still one of our bestselling pieces to this day.”

Handmade in the Enterprise Village workshop using 100 per cent recycled, solid silver or gold, it is described as a staple in any Daniella Draper collection, be it personalised with a date, name or phrase.

The Global Wedding Awards were hosted by premium lifestyle publication Luxlife, and celebrate the very best in the industry.

Director Della Draper, Daniella’s mother, said: “Our wedding day is one of the most important days in our lives, so to be able to be a small part of our customers’ is something we are truly grateful for. We are so proud to be recognised as not only sustainable but timeless. All our jewellery is made to last, made in the UK, and made using 100 per cent recycled solid silver and gold.”

Having completed her studies in 2009, Daniella returned to her home roots of Lincolnshire to start the business, initially in Cleethorpes. Inspired by nature, history, travel and romance, it now has six standalone boutique stores, with Lincoln, Beverley, Grimsby, Windermere and London following the original resort location, itself moving from Meridian Point to Sea View Street.
