Police searching for missing student University of Reading student Daniel Williams have said they have found a body in a lake.
The body was discovered on Tuesday morning in a lake at Whiteknights Campus at the university.
A police spokesman said the body has not been formally identified but said Mr Williams' family has been informed.
Mr Williams, a 19-year-old computer science student, has been missing since 12am on Thursday. He was reported missing after he failed to return to his student accommodation.
Speaking after the discovery on Tuesday, Superintendent Stan Gilmour from Thames Valley Police said: "Tragically officers searching for Daniel have located a body.
"While the identity of the person who died is yet to be established, we have informed Daniel’s family and are providing support to them. Please could I make an appeal to respect the privacy of Daniel’s family at what must be a deeply difficult time for them.”
The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious, police said.
Volunteers from the Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue team have been assisting Thames Valley Police with the search, along with the National Police Air Service.
