George Russell is a winner in Formula 1 after taking his first career victory in Brazil.
The Briton secured Mercedes' first triumph of the year with a classy performance in a drama-filled Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Starting from first, Russell never looked threatened as Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were all involved in collisions.
Russell survived a late scare when a safety car was deployed late in the race, leaving a 12-lap sprint to the finish.
Hamilton finished in second and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz came third.
"What an amazing feeling. It's been an emotional rollercoaster this season," he said.
"I felt in control, Lewis was super fast, and when I saw the safety car I thought, 'oh Jesus, this is going to be a very difficult end'."
Russell became the 113th driver in F1 history to win a grand prix.
It was also the first time God Save the King has been played for a winning driver in F1.
Daniel Ricciardo's second-last race for McLaren ended on the opening lap after the Australian crashed into the Haas of Kevin Magnussen.
Ricciardo could not slow his car quickly enough into one of the sharp left-hand corners at Interlagos, hitting the rear of Magnussen.
The Danish driver, who took his first career pole position this weekend, spun around and then collected Ricciardo as they both went into the barriers.
Former F1 driver turned commentator Martin Brundle said the crash was "100 per cent" Ricciardo's fault.
The safety car lasted until the end of lap 6 before racing resumed.
Once the green flag was waved more drama followed with Verstappen and Hamilton coming together, as well as McLaren's Lando Norris and Ferrari's Leclerc.
Verstappen needed to pit after his contact with Hamilton, while Leclerc was spun into the barriers.
The Ferrari driver was able to keep his car running and get back to the pits.
Verstappen and Norris were given five-second penalties for each collision.
"Where did they expect me to go? He just closed the door on me," Verstappen said to his team after being told about his penalty.
Verstappen was able to recover to sixth while Leclerc climbed to an impressive fourth.
