Genk right-back Daniel Munoz has placed himself on strike from training as he seeks to force an exit, amid interest from Crystal Palace.
Palace have been tracking the 27-year-old for an extended period of time, and it is understood that Genk are holding out for a transfer fee of £8.6million when they sell the player.
The Eagles are searching for a long-term solution in the right-back position, where captain Joel Ward, 34, and Nathaniel Clyne, 32, are both out of contract in the summer.
One option is Munoz, whose representatives reportedly stopped talks with two Brazilian clubs recently in order to force through the move to Selhurst Park.
Quizzed on January 16 about links between Munoz and Palace, manager Roy Hodgson replied: “Yes, I’ve seen a video of him. He looks like a good player. I’ve only seen a video of him, but on the video he looked good.”

Munoz is Colombia’s first-choice right-back and seen as a very capable attacking full-back. In 148 games for Genk since joining in 2020, he has registered an impressive 19 goals and 20 assists. He played the full 90 minutes on Saturday as Genk drew 1-1 at home to Cercle Brugge.
He has made 22 appearances for Colombia since his international debut back in June 2021.
Palace are yet to make any signings so far this month, having been pipped by West Ham to the six-month loan signing of Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
A central midfielder remains a target in the final week of the January transfer window.
