Daniel Levy told why Harry Kane future takes priority even over dream PSG transfer opportunity

David Ginola has had his say on Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, who have both been performing well for their clubs this season. Tottenham beat Newcastle 5-1 on Sunday, to take them into fourth place in the Premier League, as they try to keep their Champions League hopes for next season alive.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently top of Ligue 1, 12 points ahead of second-placed Marseille. Mbappe has scored 17 goals and registered 13 assists in his 27 league appearances so far this season.

After Spurs' victory on Sunday, Antonio Conte was full of praise for his Kane: "I am happy for him because we are talking about a world-class striker. He deserves the best because he is a great worker, a hard worker, this is not normal."

"Normally the player that has talent don't like to work hard. In my career, I didn't have a great talent and for this reason, I worked hard," Conte added.

"What I liked from him from the first time was his availability, he was a big example for his team-mates. When you see him work in this way, for sure you have the desire to work and work very hard. For this reason, I want to thank him, he is always a big example for everything and I hope to give him satisfaction."

Kane had a slow start to the season but he is back to his goalscoring ways and producing solid displays week in, week out. The Italian also added that he believes the England captain is enjoying playing football and he has seen improvement in all of his players, which can only be helping the Lilywhites get the crucial results they need.

The 28-year-old wasn't on the score sheet on Sunday, but still produced a solid display. This season Kane has been dropping back a lot more and making contributions from a deeper position on the pitch.

The England captain has made 42 appearances this season, scoring 22 goals and producing seven assists, highlighting this contribution, even if he isn't always slotting the ball into the back of the net himself. After Sunday's match, the former Spurs and PSG player spoke on Kane's strengths and what he has been doing so well.

"He’s playing in the middle of the park, long balls, small balls, assisting. He is capable of looking 30, 40 yards ahead and playing a ball," David Ginola admitted. "He is strong, he can hold the ball and then he finds the right distribution. It’s just amazing.

"When we think about Harry Kane, in the past when you look at strikers, if they didn’t score they had a bad game. But, with Harry Kane, even if he doesn’t score he still has a good game. That’s the main difference between modern strikers who are capable of doing so much more on the pitch, compared to past strikers."

Last summer, the Tottenham striker was involved in a transfer saga where an exit from the north London club looked likely. However, Kane remained in N17, much to the delight of all involved at the club.

Ginola went on to give his verdict of the 28-year-old's transfer decision and that he will have to look at the bigger picture, in terms of his aims and age, before making a choice. The 55-year-old believes Kane will stay in England but, as many have mentioned before, will want to be winning trophies.

The ex-Spurs man then went on to compare Kane to Mbappe. Both players have different styles of play, but are important players for their clubs, but Ginola explained why he thinks the England captain stands out.

"Harry Kane is not Mbappe. Mbappe is a style of player that you can play in front, put the ball in and he runs and scores. Amazing," Ginola admitted. "Harry Kane is very versatile, he can mix it up. That’s what is very interesting for Conte."

Tottenham struggled with creativity at the start of the season and now not only have the likes of Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski improving that, but Kane too. The 28-year-old is continuing to prove why he is such a key part of the Spurs squad and everyone involved with the club will hope the England captain continues his long spell in N17.
