Tottenham Hotspur legend Ricky Villa has urged Mauricio Pochettino to complete a sensational return to Spurs as he seemingly edges closer to being named Chelsea manager. The Blues outlined the former Spurs boss as their frontrunner a number of weeks ago with crucial negotiations continuing in the hopes of both parties agreeing favourable terms.
Despite fresh updates on Pochettino to Chelsea appearing scarce, a source recently told football.london that the Argentine has held multiple rounds of talks with the Blues over the vacant managerial position, and those negotiations have been described as positive and full of progress.
Spurs are also on the search for a new permanent manager but look to be focussing their attention away from Pochettino. Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso and Vincent Kompany appear to be three names at the top of Daniel Levy's wish list.

Although, the Tottenham chairman has been urged by Villa to bring Pochettino back as manager nearly four years on from sacking him, along with providing his verdict on the current state of the club. Speaking to talkSPORT, via Mirror, Villa said: "This is a difficult moment for the club.
“I cannot speak about what is happening inside the club because I am living in Argentina. The club is very strong and it will recover very soon. Mauricio Pochettino, come back. We need Pochettino back managing the team.”
When asked if Pochettino should return to Spurs, Villa added: “Yes, Spurs have not called him and if he has another offer then he has to make a decision. But I think he has a little chance to come back to Spurs again.”
Despite his own thoughts on the likelihood of a return, Villa has sent a clear message to Levy regarding Pochettino. "I would (tell him to come to Spurs) but it is not my decision," he added. "It is the decision of the chairman. But we will find out next week what happens – if he accepts Chelsea or waits for the club (Spurs).”
