Daniel Levy must match Antonio Conte’s ambition to mould Tottenham into trophy winners, says Harry Kane

Harry Kane has urged Daniel Levy to take Antonio Conte’s advice and mould Tottenham into a club capable of winning trophies.

Huge inconsistency continues to plague Spurs, who suffered a major blow to their top-four hopes on the weekend as Manchester United beat them 3-2 at Old Trafford.

Kane believes that, without a major title since 2008, Tottenham are a long-term project.

“It's not a quick fix that happens overnight, it takes time and understanding,” he told Sky Sports.

“Of course he’s mentioned he needs to talk to the club and chairman, and to see what direction we need to go as a club. From my point of view, the players’ point of view, we can’t speak highly enough of him.”

Whether England striker Kane sticks around to see out that long-term project remains to be seen, but he insisted that plenty of improvement can still be made in the short-term.

“Personally, you want to be in the best competitions in the world,” Kane said. “My focus is on this year, getting top four is the most important goal for us now.

“There are 11 games left and if we can get on a run, this is more than possible. That's all I can control and that's all the manager can control as well. Let's see where we end up.”
