Daniel Levy eyes key Brentford signing for Tottenham to aid Julian Nagelsmann manager talks

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is considering a move for Brentford's technical director Lee Dykes as he looks to replace Fabio Paratici - an appointment that could help talks with Julian Nagelsmann regarding the vacant managerial position. The former Bayern Munich boss is said to have concerns about Spurs' lack of a director of football which has stalled negotiations between the two parties.

Antonio Conte was sacked in March following an explosive rant after the 3-3 draw against Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium. Cristian Stellini, Conte's former assistant, took over as interim manager but was then dismissed following the 5-1 defeat against Newcastle at St. James' Park.

Ryan Mason is now acting as caretaker manager until the end of the season as Levy searches for a new permanent head coach. Nagelsmann is currently favourite to become the next Spurs manager with Mauricio Pochettino leading the race to be appointed as Chelsea's new head coach.

Tottenham want to appoint a new sporting director and Dykes is one of the names in the frame, alongside Johannes Spors, according to The Daily Mail. Dykes has worked in all four of the English league's professional divisions and is being considered as Paratici's replacement at Spurs.

Nagelsmann withdrew himself from the running for the Chelsea managerial vacancy after expressing concerns regarding the Blues' recruitment strategy. It's clear that the German wants to work alongside experts in recruitment to help aid his next club's transfer strategy, and if Spurs are to appoint Dykes it could help secure the former Bayern boss' signature.
