The Daniel Jones era in New York is over. The Giants released the former first-round pick. After clearing waivers, where will Jones sign? Below are the next team odds for Daniel Jones.
Giants Release Daniel Jones

After being benched and demoted to fourth-string quarterback, Jones asked for his release on Friday. The Giants granted Jones’ request and released a statement to announce the decision.
“Daniel came to see me this morning and asked if we would release him. We mutually agreed that would be best for him and for the team. Daniel has been a great representative of our organization, first class in every way,” owner John Mara said in a statement. “His handling of this situation yesterday exemplifies just that. We are all disappointed in how things have worked out. We hold Daniel in high regard and have a great appreciation for him. We wish him nothing but the best in the future.”
Jones’ release from the team is not surprising. On Thursday, Jones read his first statement since being benched, thanking the Giants for giving him an opportunity.
At 2-8, head coach Brian Daboll needed to switch things up for the worst offense in the NFL in terms of points per game (15.6).
Releasing Jones now also means the team will not owe him $23 million for injury in 2025.
After leading the Giants to the playoffs in 2022, Jones signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension. Jones only lasted two years on that extension.

Daniel Jones Next Team Odds
Ex-Giants QB Daniel Jones is subject to waivers, but it'd be a major upset if he were claimed. To pick him up, another team would have to take on the $11.83 million left on his contract for the rest of the season.
He'll hit the wire at 4 p.m. ET, and likely clear Monday.

Jones will likely clear waivers by Monday, meaning he can sign with another team.
The Carolina Panthers (+170) are the favorite to sign Jones, according to Bovada. Ironically, the Panthers defeated Jones in his final start with the Giants. The Panthers are 3-7 and have been playing quarterbacks Bryce Young and Andy Dalton.
The Minnesota Vikings (+300) are 8-2 thanks to a terrific season from Sam Darnold. Nick Mullens or Brett Rypien would start if Darnold got hurt. Signing Jones would be an insurance move in case of a Darnold injury.
