Daniel James has warned his former club he will celebrate against them if he scores for Leeds United later today.
The 24-year-old joined the Whites from Old Trafford in the summer for a reported fee of £25million and has been an ever present in Marcelo Bielsa's side so far this season.
The Wales international has played the last few games in a more unorthodox centre-forward position, as a result of Patrick Bamford's ongoing injury problems.
Last weekend's drubbing at the hands of Everton piled further pressure on the Whites as they risk being drawn back into the relegation battle.
James told the Times: "Will I celebrate if I score? Of course I do. I have no hatred towards Man United. I left on good terms.
"I still have a lot of friends there. It's a great feeling to score a goal. So of course I'll celebrate."
The Welshman scored a brace in their 3-3 draw with Aston Villa but was part of the Leeds' side that delivered a lacklustre performance against the Toffees, leaving Bielsa to deliver a frank assessment of his side, and the Wales international.
Bielsa said: "Like the team, he has had some good moments and some not so good. There was three games moreover than the results where the team showed a good level and in the last game that level dropped."
The Leeds United boss has also called on James to improve his output in the final third, with the winger far from prolific.
“We spoke about it the other day, I want to score more goals and get more assists, I have to keep believing and making those runs,” James told the club’s website.
“I’ve got two but I need to keep pushing and keep making the runs. The gaffer keeps telling me to get in these positions, so if you’re not there you don’t score."
